David Philip Hefti receives the Composer's Prize awarded by the Ernst von Siemen Music Foundation
David Philip Hefti receives one of the three prestigious Composers' Prizes awarded by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
In addition to receiving financial support, the winners of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation’s Composers’ Prize will be supported with the production of their own portrait CD. On this CD, David Philip Hefti conducts his works himself - with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern, Ensemble Modern and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.
The prize will be presented to Hefti as part of a musical ceremony to be held in the Prinzregententheater, Munich, on June 4, 2013. The board of trustees of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, which includes the composers Helmut Lachenmann, Wolfgang Rihm and Peter Ruzicka sees Hefti as being one of the most important up-and-coming young composers.
